Last night we went to David's boss's house in the suburbs for the most divine dinner of our lives. His wife cooked the entire thing - except for the coulis, which he made - for 9 adults and everything was PERFECT. Above, Courgettes et Menthe Flan / Zucchini and Mint Flan with tomato coulis - slightly chilled, served with fresh baguette and delicious Bourgogne wine.
Roasted Veal Shank with Confiture de Citron, Miel/Honey, Cumin and Carrots, truly and perfectly a touch sweet and divine:
And then the basket of fromage! They were all impressed that I identitfied themall just by looking at them, clockwise from bottom left: Comte; Brie, Roquefort, Saint Nectaire + in center the best goat cheese I have ever tasted:
This was the most incredible creme caramel I have ever had and I have had many. I have only ever had individually served portions from small ramikins. They actually called this a Creme Reversee / Reversed Cream. This is about 10 inches across in a pool of caramel, served with homemade Creme Anglais!!!!! My favorite!!!!
Waiting at the rain shelter at the suburban train station for Dominic to come pick us up for the feast:
