Sigalit Landau - Soil Nursing at Galerie Kamel Mennour
I went to see this show because I have seen and been interested in her work before but mostly because my sister Susanne urged me to go. I was mesmerized by the videos, clips of which are below. Even the kids were entranced. They are videos of olive trees - projected on 3 screens / I only shot one screen - in the Negev Desert in southern Israel being worked, harvested, shaken, attacked, cared for, nursed, by workers in the sun with big machinery. (I posted the sculptures in the show in my previous blog post.)
